Wellbeing in Education
Helping Schools Promote the Wellbeing of their Children and Young People
Working with schools throughout Ireland to enable children and young people to achieve their full potential through the promotion of optimum mental health and wellbeing.
“When children understand how their brain works, they have the keys to unlock their ability to self-regulate their emotions.”
Testimonials
“We at St Tiarnach’s in Clones were privileged to benefit from the expertise of Bernie Canavan during the last school year. Bernie began by providing all staff with Croke Park CPD, offering valuable insights into how we could support and enable our pupils to cultivate their own joy in wellbeing and manage anxiety more effectively.
With 34 years of experience in education and a background as a mental health therapist specialising in children’s wellbeing, Bernie brought both knowledge and compassion to her work. Her “safe haven” techniques and routines are now firmly embedded in our classrooms. Teachers have noticed clear improvements, and pupils look forward each day to the calm and comfort these practices bring.
We wholeheartedly recommend this as a whole-school approach: wellbeing in action, delivered in a child-friendly, practical, and effective way that truly works..”

“Bernie's workshop was just invaluable. Not only did it help the pupils understand where their anxiety comes from, it provided them with practical tools to help them to deal with those feelings .
It also provided us teachers with techniques to help children calm their minds on a daily basis.
I do Bernie’s recorded visualisation with my class every morning and it puts us all in a lovely calm, relaxed state to start our day.
I observed a marked improvement in the pupils ability to maintain focus as the year progressed and I believe the daily guided visualisation helped with this.
I cannot rate this workshop highly enough.”

“I used to be nervous reading in class or speaking in front of people, but after doing the workshop with Bernie, I realized that by doing the Quick Calm Technique, I can easily calm myself down.
I loved the stories and activities but I think my favourite was the video about Ezra.
I was really inspired by him and it helped me get the confidence to push on and not give up when I make a mistake or think I am not good at something like Maths or football.”
